Call Waiting…

Wake up in the morning,
with my head like:
“Whatcha doin?”,
I used to feel alive,
now I only feel part of it,
with every other song,
but a new explosion of ideas,
has not begun.

I guess I’m pretty tired,
because I don’t feel,
like writing words that make sense,
No, I don’t feel,
any sort of inspiration,
emerging from my hands,
only drowning in frustration.

I just sit and watch,
as she floats away,
my muse,
drawn into a shimmering light,
leaving me behind.
I have to put down,
the pen and let it rest,
patience put to the test.

What else to do?
When I’m not in the mood,
when I’m only sitting around,
dwelling in that ticking sound,
waiting for my muse.
Oh, how come,
there isn’t any sunlight left,
after you’ve removed all clouds?

Now nothing but,
sitting to that awful ticking sound,
I want to light this clock on fire,
I turn on the music –
volume higher!
And I sing along,
to every song,
and like 4 non blondes,
I step outside,
shout at the sky and ask:
“Hey! What’s going on?!”

About the poem:

I have been a bit quiet lately. I haven’t written anything or even responded to any of your comments in a few weeks now. Part of it has to do with me moving countries (again), I’m moving back to Germany for a bit, and part of it is due to the fact that it’s summer and I’m taking a little vacation right now.

I’ve been so busy the past few weeks, that I don’t know what to do with myself now that I have a few days of quiet. I started to write, but I wasn’t very happy with the things I spilled on paper. Today, this frustration has been shouting THIS at me. So, I quickly ran, got a pen and wrote as I was told.
