Daily Dispatch 19: Soul Exchanger.

soul_collector_by_artztood-d8356eg

Hello child,
I am no stranger,
I go by the name,
Of the Soul Exchanger.

I would very much like,
To possess your soul,
To own and add another to my list,
Truly is my only goal.

Hello young thing,
Would you like me,
To grant you,
Your most secret wish?

All you need to do,
Is to serve your soul to me,
For it would be,
My perfect dish.

Trade me your soul child,
Come on don’t be shy,
And in exchange you can wish for,
Anything before you die:

Like getting rid,
Of all your pain,
Being rich, finding love,
Or having fame.

No worries child,
It’s just a game,
No hooks attached,
Just sign your name.

In exchange you can get,
Your heart’s desire,
Come on now,
Who doesn’t like,
To play with fire?

Give up your soul child,
I collect them all,
I lick my claws,
Can’t you hear,
My stomach roar?

My palms are sweaty,
It’s just plain greed,
Give it up already,
Your soul is what I need.

This poem is part of the project Daily Dispatch.

About the poem:

I wrote this poem within 15 minutes after creating the name for a Character I wanted to write about. The name “Soul Exchanger” almost immediately came to mind after I had the idea to write a poem about a somewhat dark creature. After I had the name the story in my head began and the poem basically wrote itself.
When I was writing this poem, I wrote it in form of a text and not in the order it is displayed above. After I finished writing, I read through each sentence and simply put them into a different more fitting order. The result of this is this poem.

See you soon,

prospermind.
