Love Virgin.

What is Love?

How do I answer this question,
if I’ve never been in Love?

Strip down naked.
Awkwardness of nakedness.
I feel so visible, too visible
– naked.

I feel ashamed.
Shameful and shy,
at the same time.

Love has never stopped by,
Love has never shown its face
around me.

How am I supposed to know,
what Love feels like,
what Love looks like,
what Love tastes like,
if I’ve never even met this thing
you call “love”?

  2. This is a great post, because I think we all ask ourselves these questions at one time or another, so we can all relate.

In love, there should be no awkwardness of nakedness, though… because the other is so looking forward to touching, tasting your body, feeling your skin under their tongue and fingers… Because they’re not looking at your body but at your soul through your eyes. That’s what I think, though I know that I always had a little bit of awkwardness about nakedness until I started to accept that my body was perfect just the way it is. I hope that you/she learns this soon.

I also know that what I thought was love wasn’t (learnt it the hard way). So now I doubt it every time. I’m never sure. But I think when you want, no, ache to be one with the other, that’s a pretty good indication.
However, I’m no expert by far πŸ™‚

    • Thank you Dawn. Yes, I agree. Love is a topic we all can relate to in some way and all of us gaze with wonder upon it for sure.
Wow, your description of love really is stunning. That’s passionate love right there. You’ve just said the most amazing thing Dawn “they’re not looking at your body but at your soul through your eyes”.. WOW! How poetic and certainly something to keep in mind for the rest of this quest to find love.
I know and I accepted the fact, that nobody is perfect – and that’s a good thing. If everyone (or better said anyone) would be perfect, how BORING would life be?! VERY! It’s our imperfections, our faults and flaws, who fill our daily stories with excitement. Realizing this has brought me one step closer to feeling comfortable in my own skin, however there just are situations in life, where this awkwardness returns and you wish for nothing more than to get rid of your flaws. There will always be someone, who has better hair than you, is more muscular than you, is taller than you or whatsoever.. it’s those moments that try to hide you in their shadows and allow this awkwardness to bother you or even restrain you in some way. It’s especially hard to suck it up during those moments and ignore your flaws. However comparing ourselves to others is something we automatically do, it requires quite the amount of effort not to do so.
I know your story Dawn and you know what? I respect you with all my heart that you had the courage to get up, dust yourself off and start all over again. You’re a strong and brave woman! I can only imagine your constant battle with doubting love, but I’m certain (although it’s kind of a clichΓ© saying) time will heal all wounds. Furthermore I strongly believe, once you’ve met the right right person, you’ll just know and all your doubts will disappear at once.
Hey, show me someone who actually is an expert on love? Being an expert on love would mean, that one had to know everything there is to know and to experience about love.. I imagine this would be quite boring. So, it’s good that we’re no experts, it means we still have a lot to discover and to learn and that’s what makes life exciting!

      Love, prospermind. ❀

      • Wow! What a reply! Thank you for taking the time, and for the compliments (I’ll take them as such!).
I agree, no one is an expert at anything, and we all keep on learning throughout our lives, that’s what makes it all interesting!
As for flaws… did you read my post on it? It is not easy to accept they aren’t flaws to everyone, but slowly, I’m getting there πŸ™‚
I wish you all the best on your journey to discover love, perfection in your imperfections… life!

      • I’m the one who has to thank you Dawn, really. I appreciate your constant support and the advice you provide very much. This is why I enjoy blogging, it’s the interaction with others from around the world that attracts me. Back to the topic:
No, I don’t recall reading your post on it, I’ll have to read, now I’m curious. (I’d be happy, if you could post a link to it. That way I’d be able to get to it faster.)
Like always, you are so sweet Dawn! Thank you so much, I’m glad our paths crossed (even if only over the internet)! πŸ™‚

  5. You will know it is love when it finds you – that is the beauty, mystery and grace of love – we can’t keep it, trap it, stop it or choose it. I will say though, that you are an expert – you are the expert of yourself, only you know you as well as you do, as well as anyone will. But many have expertise in many different realms/fields etc, which can help and guide – but you are the expert on you….Trust yourself and your heart πŸ™‚
