Mirror mirror on the wall,
aren’t you tired of seeing it all?
The good, the bad,
the pretty, the sad.
the ugly, the mad,
the lies, the truth –
all well hidden inside of you.
The small, the tall,
the rise, the fall,
the brave, the bold,
the young, the old –
their countless stories left untold.
The bright, the dumb,
the wounded, the numb,
the wasted, the scum,
the thick, the thin –
and all of us who lived in sin.
Mirror mirror on the wall,
you surely have seen it all,
please, tell me mirror what to do,
all solutions are in you.
Mirror mirror now I see,
the answers I am looking for,
they all unite inside of me.
seems even
dusty mirrors
are wise 🙂

The dusty are wise indeed my friend. We all can learn from the things covered in dust. 🙂

Thank you Dawn! I’m really surprised by how this turned out. Couldn’t sleep last night, because these words in my mind just would not shut up.. so I finally gave in and grabbed a pen. Et Voilà, c’est le résultat. Oh, seems like I forgot most of my french.. it’s been a few years.
I’m glad you’ve enjoyed it. Thanks again for your kind words, it does have a certain kind of rhythm to it, doesn’t it?! ❤

Ah yes, I know the feeling! It’s funny how sometimes we just have to write these words down! That’s how I wrote my first poem as an adult.
I would say your French is Ok considering you are now immersed into Asian languages (cannot remember whether it’s Japanese or Chinese, sorry).
It does have a rhythm to it. It is a wonderful poem 🙂

It’s really kind of funny, sometimes hilarious even. Once we’ve opened up that portal to our thoughts, we can never stop thoughts leaking out again.
Yes yes, Chinese is completely different from all those latin-based languages.. It really gets confusing sometimes with all these languages in my head. I’m sure you know exactly what I’m talking about. I remember you speak multiple languages as well. 😉

I do, well remembered 🙂
However, the only thing I know in Chinese is how to count and how to say North, South, East and West. Plus a few very select phrases (Hello, how are you and such). Nothing like you 😉

What a great poem!
Well… I prefer to tease mirrors 😛
They’re SOOO funny when they’re angry!

Haha, you! Be careful though, once a mirror can’t take it any longer, it’ll cut you.
I enjoy smiling at mirrors and sometimes, if they’re extra nice, they’ll get a wink, too. 😉

Thank you so much for liking my poem Phony Baloney Joni on Wordmusic. I have been wanting to write this for a while and when I found out today that she claims she should be considered a war vet even though she never went to war, I decided it was time to pull her covers.

I felt like reading this poem again. It is a real masterpiece, objectively and subjectively. Objectively, because there is so much content, so much to be said without losing the topic. That’s where I’m not so good at sometimes, stay consistent. The rhymes aren’t that simple and on the first stanza, you make it all rhyme. We think it’s gonna be the same in the second but then again, the “thin/sin” rhyme surprises the reader. We quickly understand that the mirror knows it all, we all have mirrors home. But the fall is astonishing, reminding you that when you wanna ask him for answers, the mirror directly pinpoints you the direction… you. If you feel lost, like assumed through your last poem, don’t forget to look back at what you wrote. I think you can find many answers !
